Here is another method for attaching your warp to the rear and front beams and shows the use of warp sticks for the rear beam foundation.

There are many ways to warp a loom and methods for attaching the warp to the beams.  We suggest one way in our instructions and in our videos. Here is another method.  This sequence also shows the use of warp sticks to make a solid foundation for your warp. Pictures depicts steps that can be used on any rigid heddle loom. A video of the process shown below is now availabl.

Drill a hole for a small round head screw.  Hole should avoid screws that secure the ratchet.

Select some material for your string - shoe lace, nylon rope, etc.  Should be small enough to insert thru holes in beam. Tie a loop on one end, insert thru end hole and drop over screw. After you have your warp on the dowel of your Warp Helper, pull it up to the heddle and route your string as shown above, threading the string thru all the holes in the beam.  Cut for proper length, tie another loop and secure to screw on other end of beam.

These next pictures show the use of sticks to create a rock solid foundation for your warp as you tension and wind it on the rear beam. After making several rotations, drop in 2-3 stick on the next rotation. Maintain your warp tension (held by a second person) and continue to wind on, adding sticks in a manner that builds layers of sticks.

A warp created in this manner, properly tensioned as you wind on, will result in problem free weaving and a project that will look its best.

And if you want to be consistent, you can secure the front in the same way. Or use the suggested loops.
