If you are new to weaving, proceed with confidence as the Harp will prepare you for a lifetime of weaving - what you learn on a Harp all carries forward to a larger loom. Size, price point and the Harp package of accessories make it a perfect loom. Today the Kromskis offer two loom models -

The Harp - the total deal

The Beatles had it wrong: All you need is a Harp!

The Kromski rigid heddle loom is all you need:

warping board integral to its design: turn over the loom and you can make your warp (five yards plus). Purchased separately, a warping board will set you back about $70; with the Harp it is part of your package.

take your Harp with you: it folds (with warp attached) and fits neatly into the Kromski tote bag. People in mobile homes and boats use the compact Harp because it travels and stores so well.

finished wood & striking overall look: European alder wood with a clear finish, lots of curves and turned pieces. Many other rigid heddle looms lack a finish (just bare wood) or charge you more for a finish. Don't compare prices with an unfinished product. You want a finish on the wood for long term protection.

Complete set-up: your Harp comes with a 10-dent heddle, 2 stick shuttles, a pick-up stick (read about the use of a pick-up stick and see how it will add to your weaving projects), threading hook, 2 clamps, a warping peg, warping board pegs and the very helpful “Warp Helper”. Just add the yarn. No other rigid heddle loom comes packaged with everything.

Options: Kromski Tote, extra heddles, heddle blocks (for using 2 heddles for more complex weaving) and floor stand. Three sizes: 16", 24" and 32" for versatility.

Weave great music on the Kromski Harp! Harp is all you need, it is all you need...

Is the Harp in your future?john heater

What might you do when you retire? Or when you are looking for a new pastime?

John Heater was turning 65 and would be retiring soon. His sister-in-law had a spinning wheel and John began to use it and to make yarn. You might say that was just the beginning. What to do with the yarn? Like many people with too much yarn or a new interest in spinning, John's next move was to the Kromski Harp rigid heddle loom.

John found his calling. He learned to weave and enjoyed sharing his new pastime with others. He spends a lot of time volunteering at the Johnston Farm and Indian Agency, a historic farm museum in Piqua, Ohio as well as at craft fairs and farmer's markets. John has been weaving now for 3 years and has completed 620 projects on his Harp. These pictures show some of his creative work. Join the fun.

Spinning and weaving is easy - New Voyager Trading makes it easier with our videos

Thank you for making it. I had already figured out the wheel with my friend's help, but this is invaluable for setting up my new loom. I plan to watch the loom part several times before I start weaving. The video is great, and I wish I had had it sooner. You need to get into video instruction. Your directions are very clear and concise. Just what a novice needs."

Harp Floor Stand

For those weavers that do not want to hold their Harp in the traditional manner (back end propped against a table or desk edge) the Kromskis now have a beautiful floor stand. All the pieces have been turned so there is shape and contours to everything, making for a striking piece of woodworking. And note some of the features: your warping board pegs (these come with the loom) can be used as ledges on either side of the loom to hold shuttles, hold yarn or to keepwarpingonstand other supplies handy. The remaining pegs can be conveniently stored at the back of the loom. Use the stand for weaving, yes, but also for warping, and for storage (your Harp can be folded on the stand so it takes up less space). We are sure weavers will find even more ingenious ways to use the Harp floor stand.

This stand can also be used with the Fiddle loom (see below).

Suggested retail price

16" Harp floor stand $103
24" Harp floor stand $112
32" Harp floor stand $122.50

Stand Set-up Instructions

Do I need a stand for my Harp?  Look here for some reasons to get one.

Use the floor stand to hold the loom while warping, even with a project on the other side. Fold the loom while on the stand to save space. Use the side pegs to hold yarn for your stick shuttles. Use the side pegs to hold your shuttles.

Harp Tote Bags

Because the Kromski Harp conveniently folds (with your warp and project in place), why not put it in a tote bag for easy storage or travel?

The bags are made of polycanvas and feature canvas handles. The base of the tote is re-enforced to provide sturdy support of the loom. There is plenty of room for extra heddles, stick shuttles, pick-up sticks, warping equipment, clamps and your weaving material using a pocket on the inside and a zippered pouch on the outside. And on the back side are canvas straps that will secure the long posts for the Harp stand. Now you can take the stand with you.

16" Tote $57
24" Tote $63
32" Tote $69

The Kromski Fiddle

If you are looking for a basic rigid heddle loom, the Kromski Fiddle will fit the bill. Great for your first try at weaving, for kids and more.

The Fiddle, at 16", will do everything the 16" Harp will do in terms of weaving; you will not be giving up anything in that regard. Weave to your heart's content. The main differences between the Harp and the Fiddle are that the Harp can fold and comes finished with warping board pegs whereas the Fiddle does not fold, comes unfinished and does not include any warping board pegs. Also, the Fiddle is only available in a 16" weaving width; the Harp comes in 3 widths: 16", 24" and 32".

The Fiddle is packaged with a 10-dent heddle, 2 stick shuttles, clamps, a modified Warp Helper, warping peg and a threading hook. You can also add the following options to your Fiddle: additional shuttles, pick-up sticks, heddle blocks (to allow the use of 2 heddles) and The Harp stand (above). The Fiddle also comes ready for use as a warping board (pre-drilled holes on the back of the frame) - you can purchase the pegs for this purpose or make your own.

The Fiddle comes unfinished and partially assembled. You may finish the wood but it is not necessary, but suggested. Assembly is easy (instructions included) and takes about 30 minutes.

Suggested retail price: $150
