The Mazurka

The classic look of eastern European wheels of old. The novel wheel-within-a-wheel makes you think of mazurka dancers spinning round and round. The Mazurka design won recognition for Leon Kromski throughout Poland. One look at the details in this wheel will astound you - what craftsmanship!

Note: As of March, 2011 the Kromski Mazurka has been retired as an active product, perhaps to return sometime in the future.  Supplies, parts and service for those that have this wheel will continue well into the future.  Check with your dealers for Mazurka wheel they may still have in their inventory.

Made of European alder and birch, the Mazurka features both double drive and scotch tension spinning. Additional specifications:

• wheel diameter - 16"
• orifice height - 32.5"+ -; size - 3/8"
• bobbins; 3 included; will fit all other Kromski wheels; Kromski regular bobbins have yarn capacity that is 50% greater than many other popular wheel bobbins; a plus for any spinner
• also includes threading hook, arch style tensioned Lazy Kate, distaff/nostepinne and bottle of spinning wheel oil
• Ratios: 6, 8, 10 and 12 to 1; 2 whorls included
• oil impregnated bearings on crank; leather bearings on flyer
• weight - 9 lbs

 

This wheel comes boxed as a kit and requires assembly. Available unfinished and finished.

Options
Set your Mazurka up with an extra large whorl. This will slow the flyer down (ratio 4:1) as you are putting twist in your fibers. Great for heavier type yarns or beginners that want an even slower wheel while learning.

At this time we do not offer a Jumbo Flyer Kit for the Mazurka.
