Kromski Rigid Heddle Looms

The Kromskis of Wolsztyn, Poland, have been wood turners and wheel workers for three generations. In 2000 the Kromski began a new facet of their business - exporting their products to the rest of the world. In 2002 the Kromskis added an innovative rigid heddle loom.

Today the Kromskis offer two loom models, the The Harp and The Fiddle.

Are you new to weaving? If you would like to see what can be done on a Kromski Harp, weavings by students in a class for beginners, look here. You too can create interesting projects on a Kromski Harp.

The Kromski Harp

Rigid Heddle Weaving

When you introduce a new product, you want to set new standards. The Kromski rigid heddle loom does that, with several innovative features. The Kromski Harp has a warping board integral to its design; turn over the loom and you can make your warp (five yards plus). When you get ready to travel, take your Harp with you; it folds to be more compact (with the warp attached) and fits neatly into the Kromski tote bag (optional). The overall look of the Harp is also striking; European alder wood with a clear finish, lots of curves and turned pieces. Your Harp comes with a 10-dent heddle, 2 stick shuttles, a pick-up stick, threading hook, 2 clamps, a warping peg, warping board pegs and the very helpful “Warp Helper”. The Kromski Tote, extra heddles, extra heddle blocks (for more complex weaving) and stands are available separately. Loom sizes: 16", 24" and 32" (actural weaving widths are slightly smaller). You will weave great music on the Kromski Harp!

Folded, the Kromski Harp will store easily or allow you to transport it to workshops, to the cabin in the woods, or to the beach.
The Kromski loom does double duty as a warping board. Create a small warp or a large one, but you don't need to purchase extra equipment to do it.

For weaving instructors and stores giving classes, The Harp is the perfect loom to get students weaving. Each loom has everything a beginner needs for a class. And when the class is adjourned for a week, or when it is over, let them take it home as a "keeper."

16" Rigid Heddle loom $179
24" Rigid Heddle loom $199
32" Rigid Heddle loom $219

8-dent and 12-dent heddles as an option are available.

Note: the 32" Harp does not have an arch on the heddle; manufacturing constraints makes shaping the wood for this size impractical.

New Voyager also makes available a variety of stick shuttles and pick-up sticks that will match your weaving needs. Contact your dealer for information.

Now Available - New Voyager Trading is now offering a video that presents many of the Kromski products - spinning wheels, The Harp looms, and spinning and weaving supplies. This video also contains detailed information on how to assemble these product and lengthy sections for beginners - how to spin and how to weave on a rigid heddle loom. For those of you that will be purchasing a Kromski Harp or one of the wheels, this video is included free with your purchase. The video is about 140 minutes long.

Contact your Kromski dealer about viewing this video or obtaining your own copy (at a small nominal charge). If you want to see the Kromski products up close, if you want to see what it takes to put a wheel or loom together, if you want to know that you will be able to use your wheel or loom, this video will be a great confidence builder. Spinning and weaving is easy - New Voyager Trading makes it easier.

My supplier just sent me your new video on the Kromski spinning wheels and loom. Thank you for making it. I had already figured out the wheel with my friends help, but this is invaluable for setting up my new loom. I plan to watch the loom part several times before I start weaving. The video is great, and I wish I had it sooner. You need to get into video instruction. Your directions are very clear and concise. Just what a novice needs.

Harp Floor Stand

For those weavers that do not want to hold their Harp in the traditional manner (back end propped against a table edge) the Kromski now have a beautiful floor stand. All the pieces have been turned so there is shape and contours to everything, making for a striking piece of woodworking. And note some of the features: your warping pegs (these come with the loom) can be used as ledges on either side of the loom to hold shuttles, hold yarn or to keep other supplies handy. The remaining peg can be conveniently stored at the back of the loom. Use the stand for weaving, yes, but also for warping, and for storage (your Harp can be folded on the stand so it takes up less space). We are sure weavers will find even more ingenious ways to use the Harp floor stand.

This stand can also be used with the Fiddle loom (see below).

Suggested retail price

16" Harp floor stand $89
24" Harp floor stand $92.50
32" Harp floor stand $100

Use the floor stand to hold the loom while warping, even with a project on the other side

Harp Tote Bags

Because the Kromski Harp conveniently folds (with your warp and project in place), why not put it in a tote bag for easy storage or travel.

The bags are made of polycanvas and feature canvas handles and a shoulder strap. The base of the tote is re-enforced to provide sturdy support of the loom. There is plenty of room for stick shuttles, pick-up sticks, warping equipment, clamps and your weaving material.

Suggested retail price

16" Tote royal blue $52
24" Tote navy $58
32" Tote hunter green $64

The Kromski Fiddle

Rigid Heddle Weaving

If you are looking for a basic rigid heddle loom, the Kromski Fiddle will fit the bill. Great for your first try at weaving, for kids and more.

The Fiddle, at 16", will do everything the Harp will do in terms of weaving; you will not be giving up anything in that regard. Weave to your hearts content. The Fiddle is packaged with a 10-dent heddle, 2 stick shuttles, clamps, a modified Warp Helper, warping peg and a threading hook. You can also add the following options to your Fiddle: additional shuttles, pick-up sticks, heddle blocks (to allow the use of 2 heddles) and stand. The Fiddle also comes ready for use as a warping board (pre-drilled holes on the back of the frame) - you can purchase the pegs for this purpose or make your own.

The Fiddle comes unfinished and partially assembled. You may finish the wood but it is not necessary. Assembly is easy (instructions included) and takes about 30 minutes.

Suggested retail price: $125
